KATVA Trail 50 closed – Private Property – No Trespassing – effective immediately

June 29, 2015

KATVA Trail #50 Now Closed – This trail is on private property, so please respect the landowners and stay off the trail.

This trail starts at Crystal Lake Rd and goes South where it intersects with Trail #41, and the entire trail is on parcels of private property. One of the landowners on this trail wants to use the land with his family for the first time in many years and has asked that the trail be closed. Please respect the landowners decision and stay off this trail completely. This map below shows an alternate route you can use – it uses  Chrystal Lake Road and the fire access road from the North Junction. In the meantime, KATVA and Twin Mountains Snowmobile Club will be working on a solution to try to re-route this trail in future. We don’t expect the trail to re-open this season. Thank you.

Avoid trail 40 (E108) from Bass Lake to Fire Access Road near Loom Lake

November 17, 2014

Bass Lake Trail (40) E108 from Bass Lake all the way to the fire access road near Loom Lake will be undergoing some major repairs from now untill mid December. Please !!! Avoid that trail and be mindful that there will be large machinery working there to bring us even better safer trails for 2015.

The project will start on Monday Nov.17 for the next few weeks. “ LARGE  EQUIPMENT” will be on  TRAIL #40 & #46 from  Bass Lake to the Forest Access Road (North  Junction). Trucks will be hauling in to the North Junction from the Crystal Lake Road.

Alternatively you can use old logging or concession lake to go through the fivepoints from bass lake road to the fire access road until December 1st, when our trails close for the winter.

Enjoy and ride safe

Trail Maintenance $$ at work !!

August 23, 2014

Check out the photo gallery – Lots of ongoing trail maintenance work is underway – both in the VRT, Somerville Forest, Pinery and the 5-points areas. Volunteers are out often – trimming back the dense underbrush, removing thorn bushes, blackberries and trees that have fallen on the trails. They are working hard to keep the trails passable and safe. If you see them on the trails, pass them cautiously – they often can’t hear you coming with the noise from their equipment or their safety wear. Stop and thank them for the terrific job they are doing !! Special thanks to our maintenance coordinators for managing this effort  as well as the volunteers helping them. More photos have been added to the photo gallery – check them out !!
