Types of KATVA Permits Available
A KATVA ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP (PERMIT) IS GOOD FOR A FULL 12 MONTHS FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE.
Permits are issued for the machine, not for the persons riding the machine. Passengers do not need an additional permit.
PROOF OF PURCHASE – HAVING THE CONFIRMATION EMAIL ON YOUR PHONE IS SUFFICIENT PROOF OF PURCHASE FOR TEMPORARY PERMITS AND FOR SINGLE ANNUAL AND FAMILY ANNUAL MEMBERSHIPS UNTIL YOUR STICKER IS RECEIVED IN MAIL.
IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO SHOW PROOF OF PERMIT ON YOUR PHONE, YOU MUST HAVE A PRINTED PAPER COPY OF YOUR EMAIL CONFIRMATION OF PURCHASE.
**A KORMA (Dirt Bike) ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MUST BE PURCHASED THROUGH THE ONTARIO FEDERATION OF TRAIL RIDERS.**
Temporary Permits
These permits are ideal for anyone (one rider) who does not plan to ride KATVA trails on a regular basis, or who does not want to commit to an annual permit. They are good whether you ride an ATV, SXS or Dirt Bike.
Temporary permits:
- entitle you to ride KATVA trails on a defined, limited basis
- are valid only on day or days specified
- are not transferable
- can be purchased more than once by one person in a season
- do not entitle you to KATVA membership privileges
- are valid for consecutive days only
Annual Membership Permits
These memberships are ideal for riders who plan to ride KATVA trails on a regular basis. Annual permits are only issued jointly with a KATVA membership.
SINGLE ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP – $150
- Single Annual Memberships are ideal for one machine regardless of the number of riders for that machine.
- Entitle you access to KATVA trails and our Family of Clubs’ trails during ATV riding season(s) and winter riding on Lake of Bays and Quad Niagara trails.
- Are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
- Please note, 2-up machines must be Factory 2-UP and not after-market 2-ups to legally ride on KATVA trails and Kawartha Lakes and area municipalities roads.
FAMILY ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP – $300
Family Annual Memberships are ideal for 2 or more (up to 5) machines registered to people of the same household. If 3 or more (up to 5) machines are grouped under the same Family Annual Permit, proof of all machines belonging to the same household is required by providing scanned or photocopies of the ownerships or insurance policies. These can be sent to info@katva.ca or text to 705-328-4482.
All Annual permits:
- Entitle you access to KATVA trails and our Family of Clubs’ trails during ATV riding season(s) and winter riding on Lake of Bays and Quad Niagara trails
- Are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase
KATVA (or reciprocal partners) permits are required by the City of Kawartha Lakes to ride on sanctioned trails within the municipality. By-law restrictions do apply. Valid permits are required on trails that access private lands.
***KORMA ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP
A KORMA Annual Membership must be purchased through the Ontario Federation of Trail Riders (OFTR) website.

Permit Cost
Daily Pass: $30 (one ATV or SXS / one day)
Two Day Pass: $40 (one ATV or SXS / two consecutive days)
Seven Day Pass: $60 (one ATV or SXS / seven consecutive days)
Single Annual Membership: $150 (one ATV or SXS / one season)
Family Annual Membership: $300 CAD (All machines must be registered to the same address. Owners must be immediate family members ie: parents and children.)
All rates are inclusive of HST.
Where to Purchase
For faster processing of SINGLE AND FAMILY ANNUAL PERMITS, please purchase your permit online when possible.
Online
It’s a simple process to purchase your permit online. You must complete an online application and submit payment.
- Be sure you double check your application.
- Print a copy of receipt for your records.
- Check SPAM folder for return email.
- A PayPal account is not required.
Retail
You can visit any authorized retailer or sponsor in-person to obtain any type of short-term or annual permit.
For annual permits/memberships, you will be issued a temporary permit and will be asked to complete a membership application. Your membership application will then be forwarded to KATVA for processing. Your membership package will be sent to you by mail. For your convenience, you can download a membership application to complete in advance of visiting a retailer. Do not complete a membership application for short-term permit purchases.
You can download a membership application. Simply complete the application and mail with your payment (by cheque) at your convenience. Mail to Kawartha ATV Association, P.O. Box 21, Lindsay ON K9V 4R8. Prior to mailing make a duplicate copy for your records. Membership enquiries should go to info@katva.ca or 705-328-4482 (call or text).

WHERE YOU CAN RIDE YOUR ATV/SXS WITH YOUR KATVA PERMIT
Before you ride on KATVA trails, you must purchase a KATVA permit or hold a permit with one of our reciprocal partners:
- Algonquin West ATV Club
- Haliburton ATV Association (HATVA),
- Lake of Bays ATV Club
- Quad Niagara
Your KATVA permit is also recognized on the trails that are managed and maintained by our reciprocal partners in the list above. Ganaraska, OFATV, Park to Park and EOTA passes are not valid on KATVA trails.

WHERE YOU CAN RIDE YOUR ATV/SXS IN WINTER
While KATVA trails are closed from December 1st to May 1st each year your KATVA membership allows you access to the following trails in winter:
- Lake of Bays ATV Club
- Quad Niagara

WHERE CAN YOU RIDE YOUR OFF ROAD MOTORCYCLE
