After much discussion with our trail maintenance crew and the City of Kawartha Lakes staff, we regret to advise of the following:
“The City of Kawartha Lakes Parks and Recreation Division would like to advise that trails in the Pinery /Somerville Forest will be closed until May 14th, 2018 to mitigate trail damage due to wet
All KATVA Trails, with the exception of the Pinery and Somerville Forest are now open to ride. While ATVs are allowed throughout our trails, Side by Sides are not yet permitted on the Victoria Rail Trail, Somerville Forest or the Pinery – they are allowed on all out 5-points trails. All trails are very wet,

Our private landowners have asked all ATVers to stay off their properties from October 1st through to May 1st, 2018… They sue their land for hunting and do not want to be disturbed ….. Please honour their wishes ..
Caution – Culvert replacements are underway on the Fire Access Road !!! Work has started and will continue until Sept 15. This is mostly grading and adding aggregate. KATVA Trails are open for riding with 2 exceptions !! The Millenium Trail opens June 1st – this delay is due to the amount of water on the trails and to prevent damage there. The QE II Trails are closed until further notice. Have fun and safe riding !!! Note that SxS are permitted on
We are looking for KATVA members to volunteer for the Trail Patrol for our 2017 ATV season from May 1st to November 30th.
